Dortmund

Dortmunder U – Das Viertel

On the grounds of the former Dortmunder Union Brewery, KÖLBL KRUSE together with HOCHTIEF Solutions has set up one of Germany’s largest schools for the city of Dortmund. With the relocation of the Robert Bosch Vocational College and the Robert Schumann Vocational College, since April 2016 a total of around 6,000 students have contributed to the revival of the historic site in the center of the city. The entire project development includes a public car park with approx. 510 parking spaces as well as an office building with around 4,000 m² of gross floor space. With this project, the development of the former site of the Dortmunder Union Brewery on Brinkhoffstraße was continued and a further building block for the development of the city center was realized. It was built according to the award-winning design and the plans of the Dortmund office Gerber Architekten by the construction company Zechbau. The individual buildings are campus-like around a central courtyard. A total of 52,000 square meters of gross floor space has been created here. The town-planning approach was taken up and continued from the area of the U-tower. The project is implemented within the framework of a joint venture of HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions, HOCHTIEF Project Development and KÖLBL KRUSE.
